Questions about Greece vs Spain for families.

How much extra money does a family have to show?

Greece adds 20% for a spouse or partner and 15% for each child to a set net monthly income: to be safe, more than €3,600 a month alone, more than €4,300 for two or more than €4,800 for three. Spain's telework visa adds an amount for each family member; with one, to be safe, more than €3,400 a month. Consulates vary.

Can a spouse and children come, and can they work?

Greece: a spouse or partner and unmarried children under 18 can come on their own visas, ending when yours ends, and may not take employment or any economic activity. Spain: Washington lists the spouse or partner and dependent children as accompanying family; whether they may work is not addressed in the pages we read.

EF scores English 592 in Greece and 540 in Spain.
