Why it is here

Why Larnaca is on the list.

A city is listed when there is evidence that people move there. This is the evidence.

  • At the 2021 census, 14,293 of the 52,046 people living in the municipality (27.5%) held a citizenship other than Cypriot: 7,557 from other EU countries and 6,736 from outside the EU. In the Larnaca district the figure is 29,904 of 155,765 (19.2%). The table counts citizenship, not when people arrived or why. [N2]
  • The American Academy Larnaca teaches in English to the English National Curriculum with GCSE and A-Level exams, and a Politis profile says international pupils are about half of its Junior School (a news-site profile in a promotional tone, May 2026). [I1]
