Why it is here

Why Puerto Vallarta is on the list.

A city is listed when there is evidence that people move there. This is the evidence.

  • InterNations lists 3,013 members in Puerto Vallarta, and the United States has a consular agency in the bay (at Nuevo Nayarit, just across the state line). [E2] [E1]
  • The INM has a federal sub-representation office in Puerto Vallarta (Blvd. Francisco Medina Ascencio 2755), open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 15:00. [I1]
  • The 2020 census counts 91,987 people living in Jalisco who were born in another country, 66,464 of them in the United States. This is a state figure, not Puerto Vallarta alone, and counts birthplace, not nationality. [M1]
