How long can a FIFO worker stay in Greece without a visa?

EU Regulation 2018/1806 lists Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States as exempt from a short-stay visa. The Schengen limit is 90 days in any 180 across all Schengen countries: count back 180 days from each day. A national visa or permit falls outside this. ETIAS is due late 2026, date unannounced.

Which Greek visas might fit a rostered job abroad?

The nomad visa is for remote work for employers or clients outside Greece, at a set net monthly income; to be safe, more than €3,600 a month. The I.8 permit suits income from abroad without working in Greece. Whether a rostered on-site job abroad counts as remote work is not stated, so it is unknown. Ask a consulate.

Would a FIFO worker be tax resident in Greece and at home?

Greece treats you as resident with a main home or centre of ties, or after more than 183 days in 12 months, and taxes worldwide income. Treaties differ: the US has a 1950 convention; Treasury lists only an airline profits agreement for Australia; NZ lists none; Canada is not checked here. Ask an adviser.

Is internet in Greece good enough to use between swings?

Greece has 44.7 fixed broadband subscriptions per 100 people (2024, ITU via the World Bank). That is a national count, not a speed, so quality at a given address is unknown; confirm what a provider can connect there before you sign a lease.
