Can I visit Argentina without a visa, and for how long?

US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand citizens need no visa to enter as tourists. Their consulates say up to 90 days, and the immigration authority (DNM) says up to three months, extendable for a similar period. Tourism means rest and leisure, so working remotely needs another category.

When do I pay Argentine tax on income from abroad?

Argentina taxes residents on worldwide income. A foreign national counts as resident with permanent residence, or after 12 months on temporary authorisations; whether months on the nomad stay count is not stated. Your home country may also tax you, so ask an adviser who knows both systems.
